Have not posted on this blog for several years but now seems like a good time to get really serious about documenting my travels in paradise (Jackson Hole, Wyoming).
7 of us drove out to Grand Teton National Park last evening to listen to ELK bugling. Found a lot of cows and yearlings and a few bulls. Listening to their calls echoing off the canyon walls was truly a blessing. Also ran into a herd of about 100 BISON, 12 MULE DEER, a cow MOOSE and several good birds. Birding in this area, especially this time of year, can be a real challenge. My list for last evening included: Red-breasted Nuthatches, Black-capped Chickadees, Mountain Chickadees, Ravens, American Crows, Gray Jays, Clark's Nutcracker, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Pine Siskins, Trumpeter Swans and the usual ducks.
